Interactions: At Guardian’s Dance, we expect all members to act with respect towards all members. While we want everyone to have fun, we want everyone to have fun while acting politely and nicely to all other people, be they guests, staff, or members. We do not want anyone to remark in any racist, sexist, or otherwise bigoted ways. If problems arise with other players, please involve a staff member so that the fight can be worked out swiftly and properly.
Posting and Accounts: We allow one account per member, and that account should list which characters belong to the member in the signature of the account. Please do not double post, because Proboards allows you to edit your posts. Do not spam needlessly.
Rating: Guardian’s Dance is rated PG-13, and all content must be kept under that rating, which means we allow swearing, violence, and non-explicit sexual situations as long as they remain PG-13. Members should be accepting for alternate sexualities as well as discussions of sexuality or sex in general. We do want to keep the board within the Proboards terms of service, so that we maintain a good working relationship with our host service. When sexual situations reach an explicit point, they should fade to black, or skip over the explicit material. Out of character, we would like to keep swearing to a minimum, especially in situations when the cursing is targeted at other members.
Images: Avatars should be 100 x 100 pixels; signatures should be kept at 500 x 300. If you have multiple images in your signature, please make sure that the images combined do not exceed those specifications or do not stretch the board. Images should be appropriate and legal. Explicit nudity is not allowed (privates should be covered, please.) If your images break the rules as stated, you may receive a warning. If the image is inappropriate or breaks Proboards terms of service, a staff member has the right to remove it.
Characters: We want to see unique characters, and we do not like Gary and Mary Sues. The application boards host specifications for characters. All members start with 3 characters; one in the North, one in the South, and one that can be in either place. Additional character slots are acquired when you reach 50 posts, 200 posts, 500 posts, and 900 posts; all additional characters may be on either continent. More character slots may be purchased for diasks, the site currency with staff approval. Character slots may also be distributed by staff for other reasons if those reasons are made apparent to the other members of the site.
Roleplay: Standard roleplay rules apply, mostly that we do not tolerate god moding or power playing. People who don't know the meanings of those terms may ask a staff member to explain the meanings. The roleplay works with a liquid time system, so a character can be in multiple threads at once, as long as the player is aware of some sort of chronology. One OOC month is the same as one season IC. Characters need to age according to that scale. Please try to keep posts at 190 words or over, but we will only enforce that rule if a person posts under that length many times.
Flights: When a female simourv is ready to mate, she will initiate a flight which will be controlled by the player of the green simourv. Simourvs fly once a year, although some greens may rise more than once. If you have a simourv that is eligible to fly, contact a staff member to place her on the calendar. The staff of Guardian’s Dance hopes to have a green flight every month. A male simourv may make advances or grabs for a female; however, the female simourv’s roleplayer has power to choose which male wins her female. Grays and sometimes Tawnies will clutch after they fly. When a simourv clutches, the player of the female simourv has control over the eggs, although the choices will be discussed and critiqued by the staff. The player of the male simourv may also be involved with the clutch if the players decide that he or she should be included. Gray clutches may be controlled by staff with discretion.
Punishment: The staff of Guardian’s Dance expects everyone to follow the rules. People found breaking the rules will be warned via PM or email about their inappropriate conduct. While no official warning system will be in place, players that break many rules, rules more than once, or major rules may be banned from the site permanently or for a chosen duration. The member who is in trouble will be informed of the reasons for the choices made about his or her punishment.
